No gloves, for one.

and the finished product…

First awful mod; My mate Josh went to get his ears professionally stretched to 22mm, they ended up cutting into blood vessel or something (can’t remember, I apologise) and it literally did not stop bleeding, so he ended up having to go to the hospital, where they stitched his ears up. I would show you the other picture but it’s quite… graphic.

Second awful mod; My boyfriend’s friend, Matt, decided that for his first tattoo, he wanted his hand done, and instead of having it done professionally, he wanted to do it himself. Idiot.

The “professional” pierced his nostril while doing his septum…
He could barely even get the jewelry in and I am sure it turned out crooked.
this guy wanted to buy some body jewelry. Here’s how our conversation went:
Guy: Hey, do you work here? Yeah, I need a barbell for my piercing.
Me: Oh, okay. What piercing?
And then he proceeds to turn his head to show me the NASTIEST looking surface piercing on his cheek that I have ever seen. He had a fucking CURVED BARBELL in it (like what you would use for a septum piercing) and it was crusty and leaking puss and obviously infected/rejecting.
Me: Um..oh..I think your piercing is rejecting..
Guy: NO IT’S NOT I’M A PIERCER.
Me: Well..if anything, you shouldn’t put a straight barbell in it because it will reject quicker. Maybe one of those barbells with the 90 degree angles at the end? I’ve heard those are g—
Guy: I’M A PIERCER I KNOW WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT.
Needless to say, I sent him somewhere else. I’m not going to be responsible for his face falling off >:l
poor child

I’m that “red-haired girl from Sweden.” No, I actually pierce in a room that’s meant to just be pierced in! :) How is this related to “awful mods”? You’ve probably never seen any of my work :)

Always choose your piercer carefully <3
i’m a qualified body piercer, i was taught in a studio by a proffesional. taught about hygiene and sterilization etc and have done many piercings on people.
i have everything at home, autoclaves, ultrasonic, waste bins, gloves you name it. but i would NEVER pierce at home.
people dont understand how risky and quickly it is to get an infection from a poorly cleaned surface. ALWAYS CHECK THE STERILE SURFACES AND EQUIPMENT.
i could have the cleanest house but id never do it.
just because it smells clean, doesn’t necessarily mean it is.
oh and buying a ”piercing kit” off ebay (needles, bars in a packet) doesnt make it any safer. its easy to put a piece of jewelry in an autoclave pouch but has it actually been through an autoclave cycle?
it the jewelry the right size?
is the needle the right size?……you have no idea.
stop mutilating your bodies. go to a professional.
ONE MORE THING…
the amount of piercings ive seen done at home and they used to come into the studio for our help, eg taking it out, changing jewelry whatever, after you all left the shop, we laughed at you.
we thought you were dumb as fuck.
stop embarrassing yourselves.
Umm… Help us, someone. :)
