A girl on a swedish page said that it's totally okay to pierce yourself even though you have no education. She'd pierce herself on a public toilett and thought it went well, and sure that time she didn't get an infection but if she continues to pierce herself on toiletts or other unclean places she will get an infection.. Idiot..
When I was ten I had my ears pierced at the doctors office, they used the gun. Luckily they healed just fine but I really dislike the placement and don't wear anything in my lobes. Since then I've gone to professionals and have my upper cartilage, tragus, rook, conch, and industrial pierced. I haven't always taken the best care them but after seeing what you post I know I'm damn lucky not to even have any problems. It's great that you're shining a light on this issue.
I have two cartilage piercings on my left ear and it took them FOREVER to heal. I got them done at a kiosk in the mall with a piercing gun in the winter. During the next summer I got snakebites done by a professional with a hollow needle, and they healed so quickly. Meanwhile the cartilage piercings still weren’t fully healed. So if you’re thinking of getting anything done with a piercing gun, don’t. Go to a parlor with a PROFESSIONAL. And no, a professional does NOT work at Claires..
How long it took you to stretch your ears! cause i’ve gone from 1.2 to 7mm in less than a week, and everyone is telling me to slow it down, but it doesnt hurt or anything, and i have kinda fat stretchy lobes anyways :/ maybe im just hard core :p
Last year i was really into lip piercings but hadn’t really had any experience with piercings, so when a friend of a friend offered to pierce it for free i thought i may as well get it done. I got it pierced in fenwicks bathroom with an unsterelised needle. It didn’t get infected luckily. 6 months later i decided i wanted snakebites. So when a different friend offered to pierce it i stupidly said yes. We did it in an alley in the freezing cold with the same needle that i had used to pierce my lip the first time. I got it pierced after using a lighter on the needle to ‘sterilise’ it. Anyway, i stood up and was nearly sick and was on the verge of passing out. I turn around to see my friend getting snakebites (she didn’t have any lip piercings) with the same needle i had used, she got both piercings with the same needle. Needless to say her lip piercings got very badly infected and my lip piercings were VERY wonky. I now realise the best thing to do is to spend a little money and get it done professionally :-)
Found this while lurking for posts for my own blog. I'm pretty sure it's a banana barbell (used for navels) in a tongue piercing... And no licensed body piercer would ever agree to do that. So it's either self done or done by some idiot with a debit card buying needles off the internet... Oh, and if this is a woman... Shave your chin, broo!
