Submitter comment: Saw this puppy show up on my news feed. The girl also has a series of wonky, infected looking piercings.
WHAT’S AWFUL: Bad lines, looks like it was done in a house… and supposed to be leopard print?

Or people they don’t like.
Submitting a picture of someone NOT SHOWING THEIR MODS and following with the caption “This bog-troll is [name deleted because this post is fucking rude], She is full of awful body modification’s! She is chubby and has two butterfly tattoo’s on her “hips” that are both uneven and one is way bigger then the other, it has a red ribbon and the other is pink. doesnt red mean Aids? Anyhow, she got her belly button pierced, she had it pierced too far up it got infected she kept it in and did NOT clean it, plus she sweat like a hog on a hot summer day which made it worse, She is now stretching her ears, in the past MONTH she has had 3 blowouts, went from 0-00-1/2 and is now wanting to go to 5/8s! she doesnt even bother with 7/16 or 9/16. She is an idiot and no dumbass like her should have mods!”
Yes, asshole, red means AIDS support, but does not mean she HAS AIDS like you are implying. Even if she did, so what? There are so many ways someone can get HIV/AIDS (like, idk, from birth) that it’s irrelevant and you have no right to judge this person. Pink means breast cancer and i don’t see you judging/questioning that.
Look guys, please. just. don’t. be. assholes. Seriously. Even if you don’t like the person, SUBMIT THEIR MODS, not all this irrelevant shit about why you don’t like them.
Sometimes I wonder if you guys are just trolling us…like I can’t believe someone actually made that submission in a 100% serious way.

SUBMITTER’S COMMENT: This is a girl I went to cosmetology school with, she has a few other tattoos all done by scratchers but this is by far the worst one. You’d think after 1600 of cosmetology school(50+ hours in health and safety/blood bloodborne pathogens/skin disease) she’d have enough common sense to not do something as stupid/ugly/dangerous as this.
WHAT’S AWFUL: It was done under horrible conditions by someone who doesn’t know what their doing, he’s not even wearing gloves! The lines are wonky, the lettering sucks, and it looks like it’s drawn on with pen.

Sorry, I couldn’t post this as a video for some reason. There was no ‘Submit’ button…
Submitter’s Comment: Okay, so I was lurking YouTube with the phrase ‘septum piercing’ since I’m getting one in a few days. During my hunt, I uncovered this… I just… I’m utterly shocked.
What’s Awful: Well, in this video specifically, he shows off some tools he ordered online to pierce his own septum. That should be awful enough, however, MY DEAR SWEET GOD… Check the comments. This kid confirms that he is TWELVE YEARS OLD. And that was ten months ago… So maybe he is thirteen now. Even so, I DON’T KNOW WHAT TO SAY. Where are this kid’s parents?! He has snakebites and lobes stretched big enough to fit his pinky through. All of his videos seem to be mod based (I didn’t watch them all). I just find this so terrifying. I mean, I really know nothing in regards to body modification laws, and since they vary from place to place, who knows… Even with this kid planning on piercing his own septum, it is possible that all of his current piercings were done by a professional. Still, considering he is TWELVE, I’m doubtful… And even then, I don’t think a twelve year old — at the very least — should be stretching his ears. After a certain size (which I am pretty sure he has exceeded), those won’t shrink back down. A kid his age does not have the mental capacity (and I can back this up with research) to make these sorts of decisions because his ability to think in the long term and foresee consequences will not yet have been developed. This is a psychological fact. The aforementioned self-piercing aside, potentially permanent mods need to be left up to people who are psychologically capable of making these kinds of decisions. I just… Wow.
How It Can Be Fixed: I don’t know… I mean, I can’t see the state of his lobes or piercings. It is possible everything is fine and perfectly healthy. Still, I’d recommend that the kid downsize his lobes until he is old enough to make that kind of decision. Furthermore, he needs to be educated in how dangerous self-piercing is so that he doesn’t try that anymore. Oh, and his parents need to be seriously questioned for their judgement.

SUBMITTER’S COMMENT: This girl I know who’s 16, apparently, is tattooing herself and others, she has no experience and I’m assuming she uses the stick-n-poke method seeing as she hasn’t gotten a tattoo machine yet. She’s also pierced her septum and nostril with a safety pin.
WHAT’S AWFUL: This one’s fairly obvious, she’s tattooing herself (more than likely using the stick-n-poke method) and other minors with no experience and in an unsanitary environment. I feel bad for the poor souls who allow her to tattoo them.
HOW IT CAN BE FIXED: Stop tattooing and wait until you can get a tattoo apprenticeship.
Yesterday, I noticed that one of my good friends (she lives in the dorm across the hall from me) came back from Thanksgiving break with her nose pierced - I knew that she had been wanting to get it done, so I figured she finally took the plunge!…until she told me that she did it herself after “taking a ton of shots” and her sister put Ora-jel (a numbing cream used for toothaches) on her nose to numb it before she pierced it. And as far as I know, she’s not doing anything to clean it/help it heal.
SUBMITTER’S COMMENT: I just can’t….Ora-jel?
WHAT’S AWFUL:Being blackout drunk while self-piercing…and using numbing cream
HOW IT CAN BE FIXED:Save your money up, go to a licensed piercing artist, and get it done properly.
You’re right, the concept is kinda dopey as hell.
Would you call your dentist “pompous” if they criticized you for pulling your own tooth? I don’t think ~snobbery~ really comes into play when peoples’ health is concerned. If you can come up to me and honestly say, “I don’t care that I’m putting myself at risk for MRSA and Hepatitis and other various diseases. I don’t care about my personal health. Getting a shitty tattoo done in my neighbor’s garage is TOTALLY worth the possibility of getting a terrible infection and going into septic shock!”, then you’re a joke. Sorry.
Personally, I don’t care what these peoples’ tattoos look like. I only care that they’re putting themselves and others in danger.
Thanks! <3
