I understand that the law was passed and people would be getting there tattoos in shops by professionals. I just think its ridculous that it did indeed get passed for “disease control”. Apparently the police in webster shut down two unlicensed shops and alot of kids 14-17 were catching all sorts of diseases and infections from when the shops were open. So the town thought of this genius solution to make it legal for kids 14-17 get tattooed with parental consent. Thankfully some tattoo artists and shops say they will refuse anyone in that age range that comes to them. However what happens with the shops that allow it? There is no way someone as young as 14 will get a tattoo of something they wont regret.
Yes, because it’s illegal and can, and will put the artist in a lot of trouble. If you’re in the UK, Europe and Australia and get a tattoo under the age of 18, the artist is liable for grievous bodily harm as well as breaking the law and all the licences they worked hard for, fake ID or not. In the US/Canada, you can be over the age of 16 with parental consent for a tattoo in most states (as far as I’m aware).
But, any modification done illegally is considered awful, because the professional is putting their career at risk, the person may not be getting a good deal from it (because any professional willing to tattoo underage deserves to have their machine taken away from them) It shows a blatant disrespect and disregard for the rules and laws of modification that exist to stop the client getting a bad, and sometimes dangerous deal. Laws exist for your own good, believe it or not. Some people break them, a lot of people break them, but you may well pay for it in the long run.

SUBMITTER COMMENT: I went to this cheap piercing shop because I didn’t want to spent a lot of money on my nape piercing. I don’t know why, because I have knowledge of piercings and it wasn’t my first. First of all some intern wants to give me the piercing but because she was laughing all the time the big boss want to do it himself.
The first time he gave me a awry piercing (as you can see on the middle part) and put in a wrong barbell.
The second time he couldnt get the needle through my skin.
The third time it went well…but he send me home with this bloody neck with still pencil on it! The piercing is doing fine right now, but I’ll never go to crappy piercers again!
What’s Awful: I was going to this cheap piercer even when I know he was a bad one. Using the wrong barbell and put it in awry.
How it can be fixed: go to a GOOD!!! piercer and not a cheap one.
(i’m sorry for my bad English, I hope you’ll understand my story)

Submitter comment: This is the amazing lobe of a Swedish girl from dayviews.com.
What’s awful: One of the worst blowouts I’ve ever seen and an acrylic taper at 20mm (13/16”).
How it can be fixed: I think the only way to fix this would be surgery.
