My boyfriend..

SUBMITTER’S COMMENT:

It’s sad when I have so many things that are worthy of submitting here.

When I met my boyfriend, he had already been stretching his ears. They were pretty big, not exactly sure what size, but he got to well beyond an inch. He had to downsize because he got a blowout, (it’s healed now thank goodness, his ears are at about 0 now, he leaves them naked)

But he does have some catbutt going on, just a little bit.
Last night we were talking about this blog, and he told me, “If I start to stretch again, I’m not gonna take advice from some website.”

So I replied with, “When my ears get big enough, let’s compare healthiness and see what you say then!” ;)

Just thought you guys might like to hear that you are talked about and that one of your minions is /trying/ to spread the word :)

Horrible tattoos

(SOURCES 1, 2, 3, 4, 5)

SUBMITTER’S COMMENT: I found pictures of this guy on Facebook. He tattoos people with his cheap tattoo machine in their bedrooms. He says he’s a professional and everybody praises his work. He has entire folders full of these horrid pieces of so-called ‘art’. And he has a few awful tattoos as well.  You can’t see much in the photo’s, but he also has very thin and blowouty lobes.

WHAT’S AWFUL: Bad tattoos, not done by a professional, in unsanitary conditions and thin discusting lobes.

Ive been going through the pages and I just have to say, maybe some people are happy with the tattoos they have. Making comments like "get a cover up that's the only real way to fix this mess" isn't 'advice' or 'how it can be fixed'. Sucks you don't like their tattoo, if they like it then that's what matters. I'm not sure if this blog is to just insult people or if you're actually in it for the education, it's hardly apparent sometimes.

WE DON’T WRITE THE STUFF UNDER THE SUBMISSIONS.

REALLY.

WE DON’T.

I PROMISE.

That’s why it says “SUBMITTER’S COMMENT.”

The only stuff we write is preceded by “MODERATOR’S COMMENT.” We are the moderators.

All we do is approve submissions, add some little random notes, and educate the people who ask body modification questions. Obviously we don’t think comments like that are legitimate advice, because we tell people to leave that line blank on tattoo submissions.

Posting publicly because omg, guys. You really think I would say so many mean things? ;(

I have a friend who is about to start a sleeve, and he's been looking for a sterile shop with talented artists. In all honesty, I don't trust most of the shops where I am. Is there a website or something where he can look for a nice shop? or would you happen to know of somewhere in east Tennessee?

The only shop that comes to mind is Born This Way in Knoxville, they’re fantastic.

Any followers have any suggestions?

So this guy had an infection in his tattoo

(SOURCE)

SUBMITTER’S COMMENT: It could be purely coincidental that this person has cellulitis on what appears to be a home done scratcher tattoo… or it could be because they got a home done scratcher tattoo and it got horribly infected due to poor sanitation and unsterile conditions.

holy mother of..... (blow out removal)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=iX1Ow4olBtE

SUBMITTER’S COMMENT: I found this in a comment while I was talking to a guy that thought it was okay to stretch right after he got his ears pierced… I told him about blow outs, cat buts, proper way of stretching and what not… after that he said, I can get those things removed this easily and gave me this video.
This video is the source.  I’m sorry if my grammar is bad, that’s never my intention but I’m from Holland,. so it’s not my first language..

HOW IT CAN BE FIXED: Well, first of all, not this way….. Second, Just size down,. treat your lobes well, don’t over do it and don’t stretch too fast.. for the rest; HELP!

SOURCE: The source seems to have deleted her blog.  Wouldn’t you?

SUBMITTER’S COMMENT: Here I am, innocently scrolling through my dash, when lo and behold, I come across THIS little gem.  You’d think that people would put more thought into these things before putting them on their bodies, but I suppose that is just not the case here.

WHAT’S AWFUL:  For starters, the grammar is horrendous.  The lines are wonky and uneven.  The tattoo itself is crooked.  It’s just an altogether poorly thought out tattoo.

Something to note if you are going to get a hanzi/kanji/hangul characters tattooed onto yourself:

First of all:

Hanzi is Chinese.

Kanji is Japanese.

Hangul is Korean.

While Hanzi and Kanji share some of the same characters, the two are not entirely synonymous.

Please be aware of the fake “asian character tattoo sheet” that has been going around. Such as this one. It’s bullshit and while those are actually Hanzi characters, they usually do not mean what the website says they mean.

Hanzi does not work like alphabets. There is no “A”, “B”, “C” character. There are individual words.

If you are getting a tattoo in a language you are unfamiliar (or even if you take basic classes, or have Googled) with, please, please find someone who is reliable and fluent in said language to make sure that your tattoo design says what you want it to say. Here is a blog that is dedicated to gibberish Hanzi tattoos.

Please do not run your phrase through Google translate. Half the time, the translator fucks up. So please don’t.

Happy modding! :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ixsr5_zN0D8&feature=related <— Tried to submit this as a video post but it wouldn’t work! Sorry :)

SOURCE

SUBMITTER’S COMMENT: I don’t know if you guys have seen this already, but I found this gem on YouTube. If you want a really good mashup of some really bad tattoos with real people’s feelings towards them, then watch this! They do some really good cover ups.

WHAT’S AWFUL: The majority of these people were drunk when they got these and didn’t think about the long term consequences of getting a permanent modification like this. They’re wonky, uneven, badly drawn, faded and just plain awful!

HOW IT CAN BE FIXED: Well as you can see what they did was cover them up to make them look better. But of course the real cure is not to make those bad decisions in the first place.

Horrible Idea → listia.com

It’s not an awful mod, but it’s an awful idea. They’re selling a ” Professional Micro Dermal Kit ” and if you message him he says it’s safe to do it at home with no training.
