Saw this on Facebook and couldn’t believe what I just read.
What’s awful: This 16/17 year old girl is piercing people at her HOUSE. Also giving others surface piercings where they aren’t supposed to be, when they should be dermals. Using people as ‘guinea pigs’ for her practice is also a big no no.
How it can be fixed: STOP PIERCING PEOPLE FROM YOUR HOUSE
FAR from ‘safe’…

Submitter’s Comments: This is a screen cap of a site I came across. It was actually found from THIS article, posted on AwfulMods one year ago. If you click on the source, you will find a horrific article on how to ‘safely’ pierce yourself at home.
What’s Awful?: This site is blatantly condoning self piercing. Although it’s possible to find all the info you need online, that doesn’t take away from the fact that most people don’t own autoclaves. What you purchase on the internet will not be sterile (unless it’s a high-quality site that offers such). And even so, it’s just not a good idea. People go through years of apprenticeships to master the art for a reason. They have high prices FOR A REASON.
How To Fix?: Try and educate more people on the dangers of self piercing and go to a reputable shop!
SUBMITTER’S COMMENT: Was on my news feed and saw this post from some high school kids I know..
WHAT’S AWFUL: First off, a 16 year old with his own tattoo gun offering tattoos. And second, the kid tattooing himself WHILE on the computer.
HOW IT CAN BE FIXED: DON’T TATTOO YOURSELF. It’s unsanitary and just plain awful looking. Wait and go to a professional and get it done right.
So this is my forward helix, the back of it hasn’t changed since it was first pierced, it was only surfacing from the front side of it. :) I went back to the piercer, the guy out the front was in shock that these could surface and my piercer agreed it should be taken out,
do forward helix piercings surface?
1. This jewelry is incorrect. These should be done with a straight barbell/labret stud.
2. The placement is not even close to right.
3. is that high quality jewelry? It looks like PVD coated something or other to me and that curve doesn’t look like it’s a good angle at all.
I really suggest you find a new piercer.
Noticed a huge lump of scar tissue under an old gun punched piercing I haven’t worn jewelry in in years.
What’s awful: It takes a considerable amount of trauma to make scar tissue that thick from such a small hole, which is why you should never have even your lobes pierced with a gun
A random girl added me on facebook a while back and i came across her ‘art’ folder one day and found some horrific copies of very well known tattooists work and some other little things that i typed into google images and immediately an original of what shes posted as her ‘own’ shows up. I confronted her and apparently i was ‘attacking’ her and then continued to make status’ about me as she couldn’t handle that she’d been found out, but then deleted all the photos i’d commented on. She has a tattoo machine at home, which she ordered off the internet, she openly offers cheap tattoos on her facebook. I don’t think there are words for these tattoos. I can’t really point out what is wrong, as the whole thing is wrong.
how can it be fixed?
She needs to put the tattoo machine down, pick up a pencil, learn to draw original designs and not tattoo from home. For the tattooed people, they need a cover up ASAP.
SUBMITTER’S COMMENT: I found this shop through Groupon. They’re offering $50 for $100 worth of tattooing, $350 for six hours of tattooing in one sitting, and(according to their facebook) they offer ridiculous piercing specials regularly. They had some really nice tattoos mixed in with their awful ones which made me curious, so I image searched the good ones. Probably half of the tattoos in their shop portfolio are stolen from different artists(most from Scott Campbell of Saved Tattoo in NY). So not only are they bad at what they do, they are liars and thieves.
I would link photos of the piercings, but they are only on their website which I can’t link from.
WHAT’S AWFUL: Shaky lines, bad shading, STOLEN pictures, awful everything. Surface piercings have wrong jewelry in as well.
HOW IT CAN BE FIXED: Just don’t go to SDInk.
SUBMITTER COMMENT: This came up in my news feed. On a whim, these people decided to give themselves stick and poke tattoos.
what’s awful? Not sterile. Not done by a professional. Horrible line work. High possibility for infection.
Youtuber NycCreative was challenged by his subscribers to pierce his own lip on camera.
What’s awful: He has no training, terrible technique, and is not using sterile procedure.
How it can be fixed: Stop accepting self-piercing challenges!
This is a PERFECT example of why piercing yourself with a dull-as-fuck needle (or even a piercing gun) is less preferable to going to a reputable piercer. Even if he had clamps or something to prevent his lip from wobbling around as much, you can see how much the skin stretches out before the needle will even pop through and also how he could have easily injured other parts of his mouth using all the force.
Whatever your fears about Actual Piercers may be, they need to be gotten over because this is not a good way to get pierced.

SUBMITTER’S COMMENT: Uhm… he has what i believe to be firecrackers in his stretched nipple
WHAT’S AWFUL: Putting random stuff in stretched piercings. Especially firecrackers. Those bad boys could have all sorts of chemicals on them/in them. You don’t know where they’ve been.
HOW IT CAN BE FIXED: Don’t put random stuff in stretched piercings, period!
