Q:my friend pierced my nose for me. she ordered the needles offline i watched her take it out of the brand new sealed package and sterilized it right in front of me and wore gloves. and i have had no problems with it. i had it done 9 months ago and it looks great! so i guess it really depends on how safe you are being. safely pins are not the way to go for sure!
Messages like this frustrate me:
That’s awesome she had a sterile piercing needle, however because of cross contamination, that needle instantly became dirty once you took it out of its packaging so you’re running the risk of air-borne pathogens contaminating the needle; AND since i’m assuming this wasn’t done in a VERY sanitary piercing studio, you run the risk of the needle being terribly contaminated.
That’s great that everything turned out peachy for you, but just because you’re fine, that doesn’t mean the masses will be— go to a professional piercer, they’re here for many reasons so show them some love.
