Q:Just wanted to put in my 2 cents about PTFE in surface piercings: PTFE can be bent. Not too many people know this, which is why it's not often done. It has to be done very carefully (or better, hot molded) so as not to scratch it up, and won't stay at a perfect 90 degree bend, but if done correctly, it can work very well. My nape was done with a traditional steel surface bar, irritated me to no end, switched to PTFE and has given me no trouble after 4 years.
steel surface barbel was a problem, it should have been done in titanium. and even if PTFE can be bend, it can return to normal some time after. and make tension. i’ve tried ;)
