So I was scrolling through my newsfeed and I happened across a girl who said she’d recently completed training to be a piercer and was ready to start piercing friends for free to get some practice. I didn’t screenshot it and she deleted the conversation, but here’s a quick rundown of what was wrong with it:

  • The girl is 16 and claims to have trained with a “professional” for 7 months
  • She says she knows what she’s doing and she’s good at it, despite asking for practice because she’s never done much
  • Another girl pointed out how she can’t sterilize without an autoclave, the girl responded she has EOS gas and her parents are buying her the equipment she needs (spoiled much?) and know what she’s doing
  • It was also pointed out that what she’s doing is illegal. The girl said she’s confident enough in her piercing skills she won’t get in any legal trouble, despite advertising on Facebook, and because her parents will pay the lawyer bills
  • She’s pierced herself before and those turned out a bit uneven

Just thought I’d share what today’s kids are doing. She also says “gauging” and wears acrylic tapers in here ears after stretching way too quickly.
