Why I started this blog and roped in all these other amazing people to help.

I’ve had my fair amount of awful modifications. You may have noticed I’ve been publishing them a lot recently.

I ended up with badly done piercings because I knew no better. I couldn’t find anything that’d show me what would happen if I didn’t research, that would prevent me from almost ruining my right lobe at the age of 13. I didn’t have proper internet access for one, and I just did not know. I ended up with many botched piercings because I had no idea how to check and see if that studio down the road was any good. I ended up with scarring, rejection, andalmost permanent nipple damage. (linky: http://awfulmodifications.tumblr.com/post/17723363519/photo-1-left-a-poorly-placed-deep-nipple) It was pierced far too deep, even though I’d researched the hell out of the studio and had full faith, it all still went south and it was the most painful thing ever.

I decided I wanted to make an online resource to show what can go wrong if you don’t research your studio fully, or what can happen if you get a home piercing, or a bad tattoo, so you wonderful people never end up as the same terrible boat that I was in for so long as a brash, uneducated child.

This has been an odd post and I may delete it later. But this is why I started Awful Mods, so people would never make the same mistakes that I did, and that education and knowledge can be spread about badly done, dangerous and ridiculous modification.
