Another story to add to the masses.
I work at a Michael’s Arts and Crafts store in Florida. While working my area of the store (Paint, Drawing and Wood Crafts) one day this past week, I had this couple approach me and ask if we carried “transfer paper”. Not knowing what kind of transfer paper they were looking for, I inquired further, asking what kind of project they were working on.
The woman spoke up and asked, “We’re looking for transfer paper, you know- the paper tattoo artists use to put stencils on you.” She smiled and I just kind of looked at her and her boyfriend. And then she continued, “My boyfriend does all of our tattoos and we need transfer paper for a new piece I want.” I looked at her arms and noticed this small, swollen, shiny spot on her wrist, and what looked like an infinity symbol. I told her we didn’t carry anything like that, just carbon paper, but that wasn’t the same as thermal transfer paper.
I pointed at her wrist and asked if it her “infinity symbol” was new and she held up her arm and said, “Yeah, he just did it about 30 minutes ago, he’s got one too.” The guy held up his arm next to hers. I wish I could have taken pictures of the atrocity that was that tattoo, along with the melting baby-blurry-dragon on her upper arm.
