SUBMITTER COMMENT: Browsed back a couple of hundred pages over the past week or so and noticed a time when you guys had a heavy emphasis on the “self piecing” tag. Being my curious self, I decided to investigate… I quit 7 images down.
Why it’s awful: Even ignoring the self piercing in what appears to be a bathroom factor, there are no gloves and to add insult to (potential) injury - You can clearly see chipped nail polish which is a major place to harbor bacteria. Make up is also worn which means not only could it head straight into the site, but it wouldn’t be there if the skin was prepped properly. Let’s not forget absence of autoclaves. I hear not getting staph infections or possibly endocarditis is cool too.
How can it be fixed: Go to a professional that wears gloves, has a sterile environment, can autoclave their equipment and doesn’t pierce out of a bathroom.
