That’s me. Firstly, would like to say that I did get it done at a clean and reputable studio, and it was only that cheap because they’ve massively cut their prices down recently since getting rid of their “Half Price Wednesdays” offer. I didn’t get it done there because of the price, I got it done there as it was the only place I knew of remotely near me that did that piercing and several friends of mine had had other piercings done there with no problems whatsoever. I had looked into anti eyebrow piercings online quite a lot beforehand so didn’t just stroll in and ask for it without doing any research. However I will admit I didn’t think to ask the piercer what kind of bar he was going to use (and shut my eyes when he put it in) and once he’d done it the balls didn’t seem to be in the wrong place and it seemed to sit fine. On many messageboards people had said they had a curved barbel in theirs with no problem and it was the jewellry this piercer had chosen to use so I thought it might be okay (hence why I said to my friend I thought it’d be fine). I asked another piercer about it and they said to change it to a surface bar if I could, but I was a little scared about doing this with a brand new piercing. The anti eyebrow was absolutely fine for a couple of months and then I was really sick for a week (not cause of the piercing) and I bashed in a lot in my sleep during that time and then it began to reject. Went to a piercer when I could and got it out and only have a small scar which doesn’t really look that bad so I don’t mind it one bit.

IN CONCLUSION - Do check that the place you go to has the right kind of bars. Surface piercings have a high rejection rate as it is, and I expected this piercing to not be long lasting anyway even with good aftercare, but maybe I would have been able to keep it longer if I’d had a surface bar. Mainly though I wrote this to make it clear that despite what the original post makes out, I didn’t just go for the cheapest piercing place available, or “insist” that I knew best about what bars should go where. I do research my piercings before I get them but in this case I just didn’t enough. So double check, people! Love the blog. Xx
