SUBMITTER’S COMMENT: Sadly, this is a good friend of mine’s newest tattoo. I took her to get her first tattoo at a good and reputable shop, and a few weeks ago she went to get script on her chest at another professional, nice shop. Then this shows up. I remember her mentioning that a friend’s boyfriend had his own tattoo machine and I had warned her dozens of times to not let him tattoo her and I thought she had understood why. I haven’t talked to her about where she got this done yet, but I can only assume.
WHAT’S AWFUL: Where do I even start… everyone is pretty familiar with the music clef heart piece by now (here), and anyone remotely familiar with the style of clefs (including her) should just be disgusted with how this was carried out. Line thickness. The whole thing is way too thick. The straight line that connects to the treble clef (on the left)’s loop at the bottom? Doesn’t connect. That line is a mess. There are bumps in the lining everywhere…and honestly it looks like it was carved into her skin with a rusty nail, bone dry. It just does not look pretty.
