SUBMITTER’S COMMENT: This is a follow-up to the guy who got a piercing gun for Christmas that I submitted yesterday. Turns out he added three extra piercings to his lobe. He did already have the tragus piercing. A girl underneath commented and said how jealous she was and how she wanted one. Turns out he got the piercing gun and 98 studs (which were all together in a plastic bag, not separately packaged) for £6 on eBay. He then proceeded to post the link so she could purchase one. I commented explaining that piercing guns aren’t considered good and just trying to be a concerned friend. He then was all bitchy towards me and said that he knows about it so if he gets an infected ear, it’s his own fault… I hope to God that he doesn’t pierce anyone else! He then (hopefully joking) commented telling me he was going to “pierce [his] knob” and he’d let me know if anything would go wrong!! WHAT’S AWFUL: telling other untrained piercers where to buy a piercing gun, piercing in an unsterile environment, unsterile jewellery, not caring if he gets an infected piercing. HOW IT CAN BE FIXED: STOP USING IT! Do your research on why piercing guns are bad (he “explained” to me that many places use a piercing gun for earlobes as it’s “quicker and cheaper”) and stop encouraging other people by telling them where to get one!
