Q:some of these piercings are not done "wrong" or with straight bars. (although most are) but they're simply fresh or a bio-plast type of jewelry is used, which my LOOK like a straight bar but is not, and is as good for the piercing as a surface bar.
All surface piercing bars, whether they bioplast or titanium should be a staple shape with 90 degree angles to ensure that the pressure on the skin is equal and it transcends to the correct level of the subdermal layers. A straight bar, despite being bioplast, will put undue pressure on the skin and will reject far faster than the correct shaped one.
Bioplast should be hot moulded into the tradtional staple shape to ensure the maximum life of the surface piercing.
