Q:I've had my septum pierced for nearly 8 months now. I got it done professionally at a parlor with extremely good reviews on cleanliness and sterility. It healed up very quickly and hasn't hurt since the day I got it done. I clean it regularly, but if I don't change rings in two week or so, it starts to smell horrible. Anything I can do to stop the smell or could I be doing anything to cause it?
The dreaded septum funk! There’s nout much you can do aside from regular jewellery cleaning. All piercings smell like that to varying degrees, but obviously, as the septum’s in the nose, the smell’s far more pronounced :)
