Last year i was really into lip piercings but hadn’t really had any experience with piercings, so when a friend of a friend offered to pierce it for free i thought i may as well get it done. I got it pierced in fenwicks bathroom with an unsterelised needle. It didn’t get infected luckily. 6 months later i decided i wanted snakebites. So when a different friend offered to pierce it i stupidly said yes. We did it in an alley in the freezing cold with the same needle that i had used to pierce my lip the first time. I got it pierced after using a lighter on the needle to ‘sterilise’ it. Anyway, i stood up and was nearly sick and was on the verge of passing out. I turn around to see my friend getting snakebites (she didn’t have any lip piercings) with the same needle i had used, she got both piercings with the same needle. Needless to say her lip piercings got very badly infected and my lip piercings were VERY wonky. I now realise the best thing to do is to spend a little money and get it done professionally :-)

Just because it CAN be done, doesn’t mean you SHOULD.
