Q:"but us professionals" LOLOLOL. You're 18. (At least the girl who has been replying to everyone) You have 1 tattoo and some piercings. You're not a fucking professional. You're a kid who spends all her time on the internet thinking that she's hot shit when she's not.
Lol aww. I have a finished apprenticeship, I just don’t practice right now as I completed my apprenticeship away from where I currently live, and there’s nowhere hiring. I am a ‘fucking professional’.
Once again, you enjoy being elitist. Since when did having a few modifications make you know less about the world of modifications? Exactly. It doesn’t.
We have three professional piercers/tattooists on this blog. It’s kinda cute how silly you are.
LOL GUIZES I’M SUCH HOT SHIT. SUCH HARSH WORDS HAVE NEVER BEEN SPOKEN.
I don’t spend all day on the internet, I volunteer 8 hours a day in a hospital. Nice one (Y) Get your facts right before you start calling people out, love.
Q:If you can dish it out/post it then you need to learn to take the shit said to you all. Instead of being whiny bitches about how you can't handle all the hate. No shit you're gonna get hate, you're calling people out for their dumb mods and people hate being called out but jesus christ grow a pair and deal with it.
We can take shit, we just find it laughable when people try and defend something with is life threatening and dangerous and really stupid.
I do hope you realise that Awful Mods is really quite an old blog now, we’re pretty damn used to getting hate, and we really don’t care. Why? Because people are idiots and need to be told.
We aren’t whiny bitches, we care about the welfare of the population. Sorry if that offends you.
Q:im pretty sure felice knows what shes doing and im also pretty sure she doesnt give a fuck. you need to hopoff her dick and just drop it. felice probrably doesnt have time/the care to go to a tattoo shop just leave her alone wow.
TAKE IT TO THE GOD DAMN SUBMITTER JESUS ON FREAKING TOAST.
She can not give a fuck, but us professionals who see someone in the public eye clearly going against sane and safe advice is annoying. It’s telling a bunch of young impressionable kids that ‘yeah, it’s totally fine to get an untrained professional to tattoo you in a kitchen’
There’s nothing safe, sane, or sterile about that, at all.
LEAAAVEE BRITTNEYYYY ALOOONEEEEEEEEEEE BAWWWWWWWWWW
Q:Just had a look through that crazy woman Felice's pictures on facebook. She was tattooed by a fellow model, Maja Stina. I have no idea if she has any tattooing experience, i'm guessing not with those conditions.
As far as I’m aware, she just goes around tattooing people in their houses. I’ve no idea if she ever trained, but as you said, if she’d done so properly, she’d know better than to tattoo someone out of their own kitchen.
Q:I don't understand how stretching with tape is safe at all.... first of all it's probably a hell of a lot more porous than acrylic, and I get dust and cat hair and bits of like sand and shit in mine all the time. I have no idea. Obviously you change the tape a lot, but it's never accurate again and it always goes lumpy and wonky and just bad...
It’s safe if you do it correctly, otherwise the modification greats of the world wouldn’t swear by it. Also, the tape that should be used has no adhesive, it simply sticks to itself. If you’re getting ‘all that shit’ in yours, then you aren’t using enough oil, or are using the wrong kind of tape, or simply not giving enough care.
And it’s easy enough, just document the amount of tape layers you have on your ears, and when you need to re-wrap, just wrap the same amount of layers.
Take care, and take time, especially when taping. You can’t rush the tape application, and it’s so so easy not to get it wonky and lumpy. You just have to be patient.
Q:Do you have an actual piercing certification slip that you can show your followers, since most of your "advice" is bullshit from what I can see.
And no, considering I haven’t finished my apprenticeship yet, and at this rate, I doubt I ever will. Also, in the UK, you do not get certificates (well, in my case) for finishing an in shop apprenticeship. I have my bloodbourne pathogens certificate and hygeine/autoclave use certificate, but they’re at the shop I’ve been working at, which is 80 miles away from where I currently live. So no. I do not have a certificate.
But, all my advice is taken directly from the piercing bible/my mentor, and the APP. So, unless you wish to argue with Elayne Angel and hundreds of other piercers, go for it, but, until then.
Wait, why don’t you just provide some proof of this?
Q:Regarding the ask about taking out piercings for good... Shouldn't it be advised to use bio oil to help with the scarring?
Yes, you can do that, however even without bio-oil, scarring can be invisible after a month or so.
Q:You said to wait 6 months to stretch a freshly pierced ear but what about an ear thats been pierced for 10+ years but hasn't actually had anything in it for about 6 years?
You’d want to start off at 18g, and keep that in there for two months just to make sure it’s all happy and healthy and ready for stretching!
Q:Thank you for this blog! It's crazy to see just how many mistakes people make with regards to piercing/tattooing! I have piercings and tattoos, and never had any problems with them, but then again, I am very anal about where I get them done and who does them! But it's nice to see exactly what you should do when you want a piercing and the aftercare required.
This is what we’re aiming for. Clear, concise detailed advice to help everyone out, and shame those who haven’t researched, or even appear to care about the state of their bodies!
Q:IS ACRYLIC BAD FOR STRETCHED EARS???????????????????????????????????
I’m only answering this so I can use this .gif
