Submitters Comment : So I work in a reputable shop and stumbled across this guys page, working out of a not so reputable location. Young guy with clearly no experience in the scarification/heavy mod field yet here he is scarring himself and intending to offer his services to others. Along with this he has pictures of himself dermal punching his own conch in just awful conditions and completely unsanitary.
What’s Awful : What isn’t awful?! He has little to no real knowledge of the process, he was attempting a single scalpel method with his scarring and they turned out terrible. The bottom picture is actually supposed to be a healed shot of the first one, pretty easy to tell how well that turned out. Along with the quality, you can tell from other shots he is not taking any necessary precautions that go along with extreme procedures like these, such as proper sterilized area. It’s just not right. Especially if he plans on doing this to other people.
How Can It Be Fixed : Well as far as the scars themselves the damage has been done there, however this piercer could put the scalpel down and quit while he’s ahead. These aren’t procedures you just jump into, especially without proper guidance. These are things you apprentice under a well respected, well learned piercing/artist who has enough experience to pass the knowledge along to you.
Normally we won’t post scarification submissions, but I think the commentary here is really valuable. Bolding is mine. Please be careful with who you choose to modify your body. Scarification, like any other modifications, should be done by a professional and, imo, should be handled with even more caution since you’re literally letting someone cut/burn/remove your skin.
