Potential Awful Mod Story

So I’m currently in South Korea for study abroad. Since getting a tattoo can be a real pain here, considering how illegal it is and I don’t know any reputable places, I figured I’d start stretching my ears (something I’ve wanted to do for a while). I stopped by a place in Hyundae called Crow Piercing. The woman who helped me was really nice, spoke very fluent English (which is nice since my Korean isn’t good enough for a conversation about stretching ears). When I told her that I wanted to stretch from a 14g to an 8/6g (and after we figured out what that would be in mm), she pointed me straight to an 8g plug. I tried to explain to her that I wanted to go through each size but she told me, “Why? It would be quicker and less expensive if you just go from your size now to the 8g.” While I can be thankful she wanted to save me money (the plugs were 20,000KRW, about 18USD), I couldn’t see ANY way that would end well. I’m not even sure how I’d get 8g plugs in my ears and even if it is relatively small, if I wanted to stretch bigger, I’d definitely have some issues later. When I told her that I wanted to make sure that my lobes were healthy, she said that the jump in size wasn’t extreme and they would be fine.

What’s awful: Suggesting jumping in size.
How it can be fixed: Don’t do it. If I can’t find any place close by that sells what I want, I’ll go back, only to buy exactly what I want.

LONG STORY: So this is a girl I had a high school class with and we attended the same university. Somewhere along our freshman year she got the lotus (first link). I remember her showing it to me in our chemistry class. I had to pretend it was, ya know, decent. It is a blurry photo, but you can tell the coloring isn’t too stellar, and it’s pretty poorly designed. I believe it is on her ankle.
The second one is the best one, let me tell you. It’s a “heart with icicles poking out” or something. Plus some derpy-looking key hole. I didn’t see this one personally, but the pictures speak loud enough: awful lines, asymmetrical heart, terrible color and shading jobs, AND it looks like a five year old drew it. Where the ice pokes out, it’s just…there. No thought was put into the design at all. This one is placed on the front of her thigh [wtf?].

Now the third I didn’t even know about until I went back to her page to find the previous two to submit to you fine people. Is it a tree? An umbrella? A d*ck? It’s anyone’s guess. The stars look uneven, even though it looks like each piece was from a stencil. I don’t even. No idea where she put that one.

Quick input on the tattoo places near our university: there are two main ones, and now a relatively new one [but I have no feedback on that place, it’s too new]. I suspect this girl got the tattoos from the place I also got my nose pierced [which turned out just perfect]. Another friend of mine got her tattoos at the second reputable place [where I got my other piercings], and her tattoos are fantastic. Either that or there is an incompetent artist at both establishments.

A girl goes and begs a tattoo artist to put Drake’s name on her forehead. The artist himself admitted it’s a horribly stupid tattoo and shitty font. When asked about it, Drake said it was cool and he 100% supported it, advocating more stupid tattoos, but for some reason is insanely pissed at the artist.

What’s awful: She got a tattoo of someone’s name on her face. Not even someone she knew, a rapper she’s never met.

How it can be fixed: (Mod comment:) Laser removal…?  I really am unsure. I suppose she could get a cover up if she wanted. or bangs?

Now, if this girl wants to get drake’s name tattooed on her, fine. That’s her thing, she can do what she wants. The problem here is that the artist is a fuck up and the lines and spacing are wacked. I also get the feel that drake thinks the idea is cool, but hates the artist because the artist did a fucking shitty job. - Kat

Story: My sister wanted to get a forward helix piercing for ages, so we went to a local piercer that was recommended by a family member. From the moment the guy started doing the piercing, it didn’t go right. He used no tools to clamp or take a hold of the ear, but instead simply tried to push the needle through using the force of his one hand. When he did this, it only went through the thinnest bit of skin on her ear, through no cartilage. Also, to top it off, he used an earring with a butterfly back to put into the freshly pierced hole. Within the next few weeks, the piercing had completely torn out.This week, we went to a more respectable piercing studio, where the piercer took one look at the scar left from this awful piercing experience (which you can see above the forward helix ring in this picture) and immediately knew it wasn’t done properly. It was far too close to the edge and not pierced through any cartilage. She even put a blue dot on my sister’s ear next to the scar where the piercing should’ve gone through the first time (which you can also faintly see). How it can be fixed: Do your research before getting pierced, not every recommended studio will necessarily be a good one.

Short story I’d like to share.

There’s a guy in one of my classes at school, one of those run-of-the-mill kids you’d most likely find hanging around at Hot Topic. I noticed one day he was wearing a thumb tack in one of his snakebite piercings. A thumb tack. In a lip piercing.

This is my tattoo, right after I got it. I got it professionally done at Germans for my 16th bday, and they suck.. They did my mom and dads tattoo’s, and they dont look as good as they could look.. My momma had to go with me, and sign some form. You can’t quite tell, but the lanes are shaky, and some lines are a lot bolder and thicker then others, and there are little gaps in between the stars. It cost me $80! -___- I love my tattoo, but I hate the way its tattoo’d. If I could, I’d go back and choose a different shop.  whats awful? the lines are wonky, and the art work isn’t all that great. how can it be fixed? get it finished from a different shop.

WHY IT’S AWFUL: It was placed in too high of a movement area, my skin started growing around it, the little gem has been getting eaten away at and is now squishy and dirty looking. When I looked at it last night a massive white and green blob had grown around the piercing and when I poked it A LOT of puss came out.  HOW IT CAN BE FIXED: Going back to the piercer and having her cut it out and let my body heal properly. Hopefully the infection isn’t too bad and I won’t have to see my doctor for anti biotics.
