This technically isn’t a body modification, but I saw this and thought that the guide would help people new to the body mod world understand what to look for when getting pierced, since I’ve learned a LOT from this blog. The picture came from the link in the photo, from a shop called Extigma. They have since removed it.
SUBMITTER COMMENT: I was searching youtube to see some people who got blowouts and this showed up.
WHATS AWFUL: Removing a blowout at home in a bathroom, “How do I put this in” shows she has no knowledge on modification and in the description she states she is not a doctor and shows she thinks it is a blowout.
HOW IT CAN BE FIXED: SEE A PROFESSIONAL
Picked this pic up off of my Facebook. This girl goes to school with me she is 16. I know she has some terrible tattoos done by a local scratcher , but this just out does those. She “re-pierced” herself with a “wire” I’m pretty sure that’s a bread bag tie.
How it can be fixed: Take it out get a tetanus shot and stop making decisions that are gonna permanently mark your body till you are of age and in the right mind set to do so.
SUBMITTER’S COMMENTS: This is a section of a “stick and poke tutorial” I found on Tumblr with almost 5,000 notes. The “instructions” also include gems such as “sanitize the shit out of the thing you’re about to stick yourself with - basically dunk it in alcohol”, and supplies include “a pin needle” and india ink… you know, because it’s $2 at the craft store.
WHAT’S AWFUL: Unprofessional, unsanitary, terrible looking images and almost 5,000 people saving or reblogging it for future use.
HOW IT CAN BE FIXED: Only if the post is removed.
Oni Demon Cover Up
Submitter Comment: When I was 18 i thought it would be the coolest thing ever to get my whole body tattooed but i couldnt afford it. So i made the mistake of allowing somebody to do it out of my apartment.
The guy did use gloves and sterile needles but used tap water to clean the needles to change colors which i learned can put bacteria into your arm and you can loose you arm. The whole thing was shaded with a liner!! and there isnt a proper line done in the whole tattoo. 13 hours of pain and a story for life i warn you. GO TO A PROFESSIONAL
How It can be fixed:
I was lucky enough to find my current artist who was friendly and patient about figuring out an idea to cover up this horrible quarter sleeve that i had gotten. Take your time and dont rush into getting whatever idea pops into your head your going to go through many different ideas and you need to think it through. I finally did after 2 years with this horrible tattoo and im finally happy.
Dragon Ball Z tattoo
This is meant to be a tattoo of a Dragon Ball Z character, done by an “artist” who isn’t licenced to do tattoos.
Where do I start with this one?! It was done in a clearly unsanitary room (which looks like a living room from the “artist’s” other photos), by someone who has no experience or knowledge of tattooing. The lines are awful, the face is awful, the shading is awful… it’s just not a very good tattoo and I would be extremely disappointed if this had been done to my body. Hopefully this person will be able to get it covered up well by a professional.
SUBMITTER’S COMMENT: This is all work from an ex-friend of mine, who apprenticed through his senior year of high school and just started tattooing.
WHAT’S AWFUL: Oh where to start? The footprint tattoo, left footprint looks terrible, the writing looks like he freehanded it, and the shop shown in the background looks very unsanitary. (He told me it was so cramped you could only tattoo two people at one time). The skull is a little better but still, shading is bad and lines are wonky. The triangle is all sorts of crooked, when asked about it he said that the “position on the neck blew it out of proportion”. The writing and shading on the last two are just downright terrible and the cross behind “walk by faith” doesn’t look like a cross.
HOW IT CAN BE FIXED: Think of a different profession, because sooner or later someone is going to get mad at you for messing up their body. Get better at tattooing if you’re going to work in a professional shop.
These are from my friend’s sister’s Facebook. As you can see, both are very sloppy. And ‘freedom’ is spelled incorrectly. The lines are wonky and the tattoos overall are just not good. Pretty sure they were done by a scratcher.
Unless it’s an abbreviation for “Free-DAMN this was a bad idea”?

Submitter’s Comments: Was trolling around Zjebany page again, looking for fails.
What’s Awful?: Doz meat legz! And then be proceeded to stretch the meat legs? WTF O_O! I’m not sure what’s on his face… it looks like an extremely poorly placed cheek piercing that’s been stretched? His whole ear just looks like it hates being attached to him.
How Can This Be Fixed?: Take all those tunnels out, get reconstructive surgery. Take that thing out of your cheek asap! Or at least clean all the funk and crust off… at least!
The thing on his face is a
sort of new surface anchor/implant type thing "skin tunnel". I wish i knew where to find the diagrams explaining how it works or even how to look for where they might be, but i forget what the guy who came up w/ it is calling them. In any case, it doesn’t look happy either.
