Submitters comment: This is a kid i went to high school with. He loves his tat and shows it to everyone. He claims its meaning has something to do with the beauty of death and says its a tribute but wont say to who. Got this from facebook.

Whats Awful: Look at it. It looks like a middle school art student drew it.

How it can be fixed: Go to an artist that isn’t terrible, if he even went to an artist. Get this  covered or redone. something. ack.

(SOURCE) Submitter’s comment: This is my cousin’s newest tattoo on her back, done by one of our other cousins, who’s an 18 year old that thinks he can tattoo. She has 15 other tattoos done by him and she’s even used his equipment to tattoo some other guy! They’re all really wonky and the ones she has colored in look like they were colored in by a 2 year old.  Whats wrong: Well it’s supposed to be a dream catcher with flowers and what I assume are feathers on the bottom. The feathers look like smudgy leaves, the lines’ width varies from thick to thin, the shading looks terrible, and its shaped more like an egg than it is a circle.  How it can be fixed: I’m not sure that it could be, to be honest. She really ought to go to a professional instead of our scratcher cousin.

Submitter comment: These tattoos are done by a 17-year old girl in her living room. She did the first tattoo on her father and the second one on her boyfriend. There are many more like these on her blog.

SUBMITTER COMMENT: Self-submission for the win. Don’t ever get your first tattoo in your friend’s kitchen by someone who took a 2 hour motorcycle ride as payment. Haha. WHAT’S AWFUL: Um, unsanitary conditions. Terrible artwork. A bunch of things are wrong with this. I’m lucky I didn’t get an infection. HOW TO FIX IT: I’m getting it covered. SUBMITTER’S COMMENT: This is a guy I used to work with. Wonderful man. Loves his family… Maybe a little too much. Or maybe not enough. Considering these tattoos are ugly as sin, and they weren’t even done professionally. I vaguely remember asking him where he got them done and him saying something like, “my buddy does them in his basement”. My only reaction was, “Oh, honey, nooo.”

WHAT’S AWFUL: Non-professional tattooist (with the usual problems that come with that - thankfully he does not appear to have gotten any infections of any kind), tattoo contains wonky colouring and shading, the children look squished and weird and creepy instead of glowingly adorable like they are IRL (I was lucky enough to meet his youngest grandkid who was absolutely sweet).

HOW IT CAN BE FIXED: I don’t know if tattoos this severe-looking can be lasered/covered, but that’s all I can think of.

I would like to clarify in that I do not think less of this person for making the decisions he did, and I appreciate the sentiments behind the tattoos. But he could be putting himself at a health risk if he continues to have his tats done by a ‘friend in his basement’, and his tattoos just don’t reflect just how precious and adorable his grandkids are.

You’ll notice in the comments that she claims it’s a memorial tattoo for her grandmothers (while she threatens a girl who deleted her comment about how godawful the work was). She also says the reason it looks bad is because it’s still healing.
WHAT’S AWFUL: What isn’t awful about this tattoo, really? She was underage when she got it done, the stars look like they were drawn by a 5 year old, the colouring is awful and patchy, and the letters (I think?) over the stars are basically invisible.
HOW IT CAN BE FIXED: Go to someone who knows what they’re doing and get it covered up.

I’m submitting this so that hopefully people can spread the word about how dangerous it is to get a tattoo done like this. He even admits to rushing through it and having to go over it a few more times!

WHAT’S AWFUL: It’s a basement tattoo, with elements that don’t fit together, and the worst script I’ve ever seen…it’s just bad!

HOW IT CAN BE FIXED: Laser removal, or a really good ACTUAL tattoo artists cover up.
